What is an eSIM?

eSIM (embedded-SIM) is a digital SIM chip soldered inside a phone, tablet, smartwatch or IoT device, replacing the physical plastic SIM card.

Instead of inserting and swapping physical SIM cards, you download and activate a mobile operator profile over-the-air (OTA). Multiple operator profiles can be stored on one eSIM, and you can switch between them without changing hardware.
